We promise: Independent, confident, lifelong learners
Newsletter – June 17th 2019
Monday June 17th
I do hope our Early Years and Primary students are doing well on their ‘Kind deeds for the World’ tasks. Raising funds in this way is beneficial but it is also really important that the children understand that it is vital that we must all take actions to improve our environment.
The PTG are being very supportive as always for International Day and there are now sign-up sheets on class doors in all areas of the school so that we can have an idea of the ‘finger-foods’ that you may be able to bring for our International Picnic. It is slightly different to previous years as the picnic is just for our students as a celebration. You are always so generous with your support and this is most appreciated.
HHIS Football Tournament
There was another first for HHIS as HHIS hosted its first football festival. The event saw five schools from Hua Hin come together to enjoy competing with one another in a friendly and inclusive environment. There was some great football being played by all schools and all of the matches were entertaining for both spectators and players. We hope this event will provide the young players with positive memories and an experience that will support their development. Due to the success of the tournament, we plan for this to be an annual event. Mr Aaron
Many thanks to Mr Aaron for organising this hugely successful event and creating yet another first for HHIS.
Early Years Farm Visit
Last week EY2 and EY3 had an exciting trip to Palisa Farm. When we arrived, Amy the Farm owner showed us around and taught us all about sustainable farming and chemical-free produce. Our focus was on healthy eating and how growing our own food can help to preserve the natural environment. Next, we helped to look after some of the animals by feeding them and explored the farm further as we collected organic fruits and vegetables that were cooked up for us to eat in a deliciously healthy and gigantic lunchtime feast!
Midsummer Night’s Dream Production
KS3 invite parents for an evening of theatre. The students have been working very hard on producing, acting and stage managing this production and they are putting their personal ‘spin’ on Shakespeare’s comedy. It will be a great evening of entertainment and will take place at 6:30pm on Thursday June 20th in the canteen. All families and friends are welcome.
Early Years Pop Star Show
We are all looking forward to the Early Years end of year show. This promises to be very special indeed and takes place on Friday June 21st at 8:40am in the meeting room.
Year 6 Graduation and Open Afternoon
Year 6 will be marking their transition from Primary to Secondary on Friday June 21st at 2:30pm with an invitation to parents to proudly share their learning from the year and present their reflections. Parents will be able to view their work in the Year 6 classroom at 2:30pm and then move with the class to the meeting room for the presentation at 3:00pm.
Open Afternoon – EY3 to Y5
On Wednesday June 26th we invite parents of children in our Primary classes to come in to school so that your children can show their learning in their books, on displays and in recordings. The children will act as the guides. Please do come if you can.
Please note that this week is the last week of ECAs. Next week the school buses will leave school at 3:30pm. Huge thanks to Mr Jeremy for all his work organising such a plethora of opportunities for our students over the year.
