We promise: Independent, confident, lifelong learners
HHIS Newsletter – October 5th 2020
Monday October 5th 2020
We are keen for you to have the opportunity to meet with your child’s teachers but we must also follow the restrictions in place regarding COVID-19 precautions. So we have organised meeting times on Friday October 23rd, Chulalongkorn Day, which was originally set aside for a training day for staff. The booking system opens today (Monday October 5th).
If you have any technical difficulties making an appointment please email email@example.com. If it is not possible for you to come to school on this day, please email your child’s class teacher or form tutor.
Jungle Aid Donations
Jungle Aid donations have continued to arrive through this week, which is amazing and will be most appreciated by everyone who benefits from your kindness.
Model United Nations (MUN)
A very enthusiastic group of Year 10 – 12 students will travel to International School Bangkok and participate in the BKK MUN event. This will feature collaborative projects, topical debates and big presentations to analyse international challenges and to develop solutions for the future. This opportunity takes place on October 10th and 11th and students will be supported by Mr David and Ms Terri-Anne. We wish them a very rewarding weekend and look forward to hearing about their experiences.
Creativity Competition and Celebration by the Student Council.
This week all students can discover their ‘Spirit Animal’ and then enjoy the opportunity to be truly imaginative during the school holiday. Details will be shared by teachers and every student in our school can be inspired to create their own masterpiece! There is a choice for every individual or maybe some of our students will think really big and do all three?
1. Art Crazy: If you are an artist and love to draw then we have just the challenge for you. Create a picture of yourself and your spirit animal with some creative twist of your own!
2. Creative Writing: Write a poem about you and your spirit animal. Again remember to think outside the box and try your best!
3. Model Making: Build a decent sized model of your spirit animal or you and your spirit animal together. Remember to add whatever you want to your model to make it look awesome!
All work should be completed and returned to class teachers or the office by Wednesday 21st October. Prizes will be awarded and all work will be celebrated across the school. We hope that this will inspire every student and parents and teachers can join in too! We are very proud to promote this competition designed by the Secondary Student Council and we wish everyone good luck.
Events ahead – Christmas Performances
