HHIS Newsletter – March 30th 2020

I do hope the extension of interactive meetings through ‘GoogleMeet’ has alleviated some of the stresses at home. My days have certainly been lifted by dropping into sessions across the school.
We are continually working to improve online learning and to give more support to students and parents, where it is needed. We really appreciate your feedback and it has already led directly to changes. Thank you.
IGCSE Exams Cancelled
Our Year 11 students have been working extremely hard for their IGCSE exams at the end of their IGCSE programmes. only to find that the final exams have been cancelled by the Cambridge Examination Board. Under current conditions, this is of course understandable. Students will still however, gain their grades and certificates, and we are just waiting for details of this process from Cambridge.
Reopening of HHIS
The Government has just announced that Bangkok schools will be closed until April 30th and while we have not yet received confirmation of this from the Ministry of Education at Prachuap Khiri Khan, it is likely that they will follow suit.
Our two week break commences on Monday April 6th. It seems likely at the moment that we will resume our online learning programme on April 20th with a possibility of reopening in early May. Teachers are setting some tasks for the holidays to help keep some structure to the students’ days whilst they are restricted on their movements.
Thank you for all the support you are giving to your children and to the teachers. They are all now working in isolation, so really appreciate this support.
Finally to boost us all, students from 6K put together some positives about the current restrictions.
