We promise: Independent, confident, lifelong learners
HHIS Newsletter – January 13th 2020
Monday January 13th 2020
We are all looking forward to Sports Days this week and will of course, monitor air quality to ensure that we can safely go ahead with these days. Air quality predictions are looking good for Hua Hin so hopefully all will be well. We will let parents know by 8:00am if we need to either delay the starts or make postponements.
We remind all students:
• That they should wear something with their team colours on;
• Bring their school uniform;
• Bring their school hat;
• Bring their water bottle
These are really fun says, so please do come along and support your children. Also, remember to bring your own water bottles, cheering your children along is thirsty work!
Extra Curricular Activities
ECAs start this week. It may be that students may want to revise their choices a little after the first week but then we expect a commitment to their chosen ECAs for the rest of the term. Mr Jeremy has worked very hard to accommodate everyone’s choices and give them these extra opportunities to develop their passions and interests. Please do email Mr Jeremy firstname.lastname@example.org should there be any changes that need to be made.
Year 9 – 11 students enjoyed a very inspiring afternoon working with Tomas Koch, who shared valuable advice about the world of work. Tomas shared many insights and tips about the importance of enjoying a good education, gaining wider experiences and being inspired to make an impact. The guidance offered to our oldest students was extremely thought provoking and the themes of Sixth Form, University and Careers, will continue throughout HHIS, as we help our students aspire to achieve their goals. We thank Tomas very much for his passion and expertise. It was a great way to start 2020 and all students gained tremendous ideas.
Late Pick ups
We do need to ensure the safety and well-being of our children at all times, including at the end of the day. We ask that children are picked up promptly at 3:30pm or from their ECAs at 4:30pm. If you are unavoidably delayed please phone the school office. If you are able to ask another parent to supervise your child until you arrive that would be helpful and again please could you phone the office to give us this information.
Paragon Asia Book Fair will be in school on January 30th and 31st. We offer this as it is still a little tricky to buy a range of children’s books in Hua Hin.
Flag at Half Mast
In respect for the passing of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said. Sultan of Oman, our flag is at half mast for the advised three days.
