I hope everyone is rested and well after the half term holiday.
25m Swimming Pool – Construction Commences
It has been a busy time during the break here in school as the construction of our 25m swimming pool has begun. Changing rooms, shower facilities, an additional teaching room and shaded seating area are all included in the design.
The pool is being constructed alongside the sports field and will be adjacent to the next construction project – a 3 storey Secondary School Building.
This will be an exciting addition to our facilities
Nut Free School
Just to remind everyone that we are a nut free school. We do have children who are allergic to nuts so we ask that no foods should be brought into school that contain nuts in any form.
Year 2 Class Assembly
Closing the term with Year 2’s highly inspirational assembly gave us all a boost. They truly showed the myriad of ways that they use their imagination to solve problems and to look at the world in a different way.
Duke of Edinburgh Treks
Students in Year 9 and 10 have been working towards their Bronze level Duke of Edinburgh International Award. They returned tired but exhilarated after their practise trekking expedition in Kaeng Krachan National Park. Their stamina and resilience will be further tested on their actual trek in Sam Roi Yod National Park next week. Thank you to Mr Alasdair, Mr Dan and Ms Lucy for taking these students out of their comfort zone and giving them the opportunity to enjoy the thrill of overcoming challenges.
Learning beyond the school gates remains an important part of our curriculum. In the last week of half term KS2 children extended their learning as they visited the Mangroves of Pranburi Forest.
Early Years and KS1 parents’ meetings are taking place today (Monday February 17th) and tomorrow. Please do contact the school office or class teacher if you have not been able to make an appointment.
Parents’ meetings for Year 10 and 11 will take place on Tuesday February 25th and Wednesday February 26th. Information for booking will go out this week.
Year 7 – 8 and KS2 parents meetings will take place on Tuesday March 2nd and Wednesday March 3rd.
Music in School and Music Cafe
It was great to open our half term assembly with a magical drum session from our drum teacher, Mr Graph.
The next Music Cafe will take place on Wednesday February 26th. Music teachers will play as parents and students gather ready for a 4:45 start for the student performances. All parents are warmly welcomed to this wonderfully relaxed musical celebration.
Just to let you know that we do offer individual music lessons for piano, drums, ukulele, trumpet and voice. These are open for students and parents to sign up at any time. If you are interested please do email Mr Sam on firstname.lastname@example.org.
